LIBERTY, Mo., May 7 – This year marked the 10th annual Kyleigh’s Gift Diaper Drive. Since its beginning, the diaper drive has now brought in nearly 3000,000 diapers for families in need within the Liberty Hospital Birthing Center. After the weeklong drive in April, the diaper drive brought in over 44,000 diapers for the community. This will help replenish the supply for the entire next fiscal year starting July 1st and offsets the growing need year after year.
The Diaper Drive started in April 2015 as a way to celebrate and remember Kyleigh during her birthday month. Last year, nearly 400 Liberty Hospital families in need were provided a months’ worth of diapers through the Kyleigh’s Gift program. One in two families struggle with diaper need around the country, and we are proud to help the community and the Hospital’s tiniest patients.
This year, we had several new drop off locations, helping us reach this total. Thank you to our community supporters: Primrose Liberty, The Goddard School, Clay County Savings Bank, Second Baptist Church, OverFlow Coffee, Busy Bean Play Cafe, Conrad’s Liberty, and Liberty Hospital.

Q: Who benefits from the diapers collected?
A: Through the Kyleigh’s Gift program, Liberty Hospital families who deliver in our Birthing Center are screened for need by a social worker. Those who have a need will receive 75 newborn or size one diapers upon their discharge.
Q: What size diapers are accepted?
A: We accept all sizes, but primarily ask for newborn and size one diapers for our Liberty Hospital families in need. Larger sizes will be distributed to local organizations also addressing diaper needs.
Q: Are opened packages of diapers accepted?
A: Yes! All packages of diapers are opened and made into bundles of 75 diapers providing a month’s worth of diapers, so any and all unused diapers are accepted.
Q: Can anyone become a mini diaper drive drop off location?
A: Yes, of course! Our mini diaper drives around the community help us expand our reach and grow the diaper drive. If you are interested in being a drop off location, please contact us at 816-792-7014 and we will get you the information you need.
Q: Can I still donate diapers after the drive has ended?
A: Absolutely. You can use our Amazon Wish List Link to send diapers directly to us, or, you can make a monetary donation to the Foundation.
