36th Annual Golf Classic Raises $80,000 for Patient Assistance Program

On September 9th, Foundation supporters teed off for a good cause: Liberty Hospital Foundation’s Patient Assistance Program. Aimed at supporting under and uninsured patients in the Liberty Hospital community, the Patient Assistance Program supports many facets of patient health, wellness, and care. Funds from this tournament help with patient rides, medication assistance, wellness appointments, medical equipment, and more.

Golfers warm up for a beautiful day of golf

In 2023, the Program helped 1,503 patients and community members, which is an increase of 259 patients. Importantly, a newer operation of Patient Assistance that the Foundation supports is transportation. Transportation is the number one barrier to healthcare, and we aim to solve that issue through our fundraising events. Last year, we gave rides to 988 patients, an increase of 548 rides from the first year of the program. Read more about the impact of the Patient Assistance Program benefits and support.

Volunteers assisting with golfer gift check-in

The impact volunteers have on fundraising events is paramount! This year, over 60 volunteers helped us execute this tournament, which totaled up to 314 hours of work. This is an approximate paid value of $10,515 in volunteer time. These individuals were Northland CAPS high school students, Hospital employees, community members, and board members. Together, these hard-working volunteers helped with registration, helped with on-course refreshments, and brought the fun with games and course entertainment.
