Meet Becky Palmer, RN, BSN

Question: Why did you become a nurse?

A: “In college, it was time to pick a major. Nursing seemed like a great choice. The flexible scheduling, financial stability and job security appealed to me. Turns out, it WAS a great choice, and I truly love what I do!”

Q: What is your favorite part of being a nurse?

A: “The flexibility of my degree. There are so many facets to nursing – from school nursing to hospital care, administration, teaching, or patient facing care, there’s something for everyone. So many career opportunities within one college degree!”

Q: What advice would you give an aspiring nurse?

A: “Protect your passion. Find a spot in nursing that made you want to pursue this career in the first place and hold onto it.”

Q: What keeps you motivated during tough shifts?

A: “My coworkers. I surround myself with selfless, helpful, encouraging coworkers who are also my friends! We support each other not only with day-to-day tasks, but emotionally as well. My friends make even my worst shifts fun, humorous, and memorable.”

Q: What has been your best experience at the Hosptial that made you enjoy nursing more?

A: “I work in Labor and Delivery. The day of a child’s birth is something a patient will always remember and cherish. I am thankful that I get to be a part of the best day of a patient’s life!”
