Meet Tracey Rausenberger, BSN, RN

Question: Why did you become a nurse?

A: “Well, when I was in high school (a very long time ago) my dad said, I think you would make an excellent nurse and “I will pay for your schooling if you go into nursing after high school” I trusted every word my father said. To date it has been one of the wisest most rewarding and important decisions I ever made.”

Q: What is your favorite part of being a nurse?

A: “It gives me purpose.”

Q: What advice would you give an aspiring nurse?

A: “We all had to have a starting point. You can only grow from here. There will always be a new scenario that teaches something new. Remember we don’t expect perfection we want passion resilience and authenticity. Embrace the unknown with courage, never stop learning. Go forward boldly because your story is just beginning.”

Q: What keeps you motivated during tough shifts?

A: “Laughter.”

Q: What has been your best experience at the Hosptial that made you enjoy nursing more?

A: “Realizing it is a privilege to be present and a part of someone’s most tragic moments. We see people at their very worst. Being able to offer a sense of calm, dignity and peace has been challenging but rewarding.”
