TreeHouse Celebrates 50,000th Guest

LIBERTY, Mo., December 20, 2024- On Thursday, December 12, 2024, the TreeHouse celebrated its 50,000th guest.  This milestone translates to roughly $3M in savings for patients as a “no cost” option to the average $100 per night stay at a hotel.  The TreeHouse’s sustainability throughout its twenty years is supported by generous donors and Twilight at the TreeHouse that covers operational, maintenance, supplies, utilities, and other guest needs.

The guest of honor was Ellen Pattrick; her husband, Earney, was a patient at Liberty Hospital after having heart surgery.  Ellen said she is grateful for a place like the TreeHouse so that she can take care of herself while staying close to her husband and taking care of him.  The Pattrick’s are from Lawson, and the “home away from home” feel of the TreeHouse during the holiday season is “a little piece of joy that brings me comfort while my husband is in the hospital for Christmas.”  Her and her husband were on our campus for two weeks while he received surgery and recovered.

In 2019, Ellen received care from Liberty Hospital while undergoing chemo and radiation.  While on campus, she utilized a program that the TreeHouse once sponsored, massages for patients.  She was overjoyed to see all of the vital updates and upgrades at the TreeHouse throughout the years.  Ellen said,

“every time I come to the Hospital, I make sure to spread the word how big of a blessing this amenity is and what it means for patients and their families.  Thank you for offering this hospitality house!”

The TreeHouse will remain a no-cost option for patients and their families.  The Foundation does ask for a $40 per night donation as able, and subsidizes guest stays with donor support.  If you are interested in donating to the TreeHouse make a gift here today!
