LIBERTY, Mo., April 4, 2024 – Scholarship season has begun, with high school nursing applications now live.  Each year, the Foundation gives five hopeful nursing students $3,000 in scholarship funds for college.

The Professional Education Program supports the advancement of nursing excellence at Liberty Hospital and in our community. By offering a range of scholarships for current and aspiring nurses, Liberty Hospital continues to recruit and retain the best nursing staff in the Northland.  Thank you to our many donors who believe in the future of healthcare.
Guidelines for our scholarship, the application itself and more information about our program can be found on our website.  The deadline for scholarships is Wednesday, April 10th.

“My experience with the Liberty Hospital Foundation Nursing Scholarship program will provide financial assistance as I pursue a nursing career at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph. This monetary award will help me achieve my aspirations of earning my B.S.N and eventually becoming a nurse practitioner. The questions asked during my interview with the committee co-chairs gave me the opportunity to articulate why I wanted to be a nurse. When I attended the Nurse’s Week ceremony to accept my scholarship award, I was surrounded with many talented Liberty Hospital nurses. It is here where I saw that compassionate care is recognized and celebrated. Standing amongst these nurses was an honor. I hope to one day model this same level of exceptional patient care. In fact, I may be fortunate enough to start my career with one of these nurses as my mentor. I have had a positive experience with the scholarship program; the financial impact is significant but the connections that I’ve made are career-building. There is no doubt that this nursing scholarship program is an investment in the Liberty Hospital and its surrounding communities.”

-Teagan Peters, 2023 High School Nursing Scholarship Recipient

Additionally, opportunities for current staff include the Stocksdale Family Education Assistance Program and the Thomann Financial Services, Inc. Scholarship Fund, which supports advanced degrees such as MSN.  These opportunities can also be found on our main scholarship page.
