Dear Foundation Friends,

I was so honored on August 1, 2022 to begin an incredible journey as the Executive Director of the Liberty Hospital Foundation. I’d like to personally thank the Foundation Board President Daniel Forbes, Past President Kari Jo Thomann Bear, CFP and the many other incredible Board Members and Past Presidents who selected me to serve in this illustrious role. I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve the Liberty Hospital community!

I hope to meet with every donor, volunteer, and supporter of our community, however, I understand that there is a finite amount of time in a day! For those who I don’t get an opportunity to speak with in these first few weeks/months, here is a little about me.

My family has been part of the Liberty community since the early 1940’s, when my great grandparents moved to the area. Yes, I am even a proud graduate from Liberty High School. I subsequently went to Northwest Missouri State University and received a degree in Speech Communication. For the next 14 years, I moved for non-profit positions in Indianapolis, Orlando, Boston, and now we return back to the Northland. I married my college sweetheart, Megan at Belvoir Winery in Liberty, MO and a few years later, Maeve, our daughter, was born at Liberty Hospital in 2017!

My vision for the Foundation is to focus on your impact. Driven by my commitment to help others, I am eager to build upon the momentum the Foundation has created over the last few years. And as new executive director, I pledge to keep you informed of our progress and growth as we collectively work toward our strategic priorities – including assistance for under-insured and under-served patients, education opportunities for staff and students, and support of community health education.

In speaking with our President, Daniel Forbes, about his vision of the Liberty Hospital Foundation in his term as President, he said:

“It is our responsibility to positively change the lives of those who need it most, in some of the most critical times of their lives. I hear stories near daily of the Liberty Hospital Foundation’s life-changing work. We can only continue changing lives by giving your time, talent, or financial support.

I encourage you to engage with us in donating to the Foundation, planning creative and exciting fundraising events, or talking to the team about a planned gift. When we do our job well, the trust you place in us is well-spent.

Where healthcare is concerned, the need is great, and the resources are often limited. For generations, with the Foundation’s dedicated assistance, the Hospital has provided the many Liberty area communities we serve with outstanding care in a loving, compassionate, and family-centered environment.

Lastly, I’m proud to welcome our new, dynamic Executive Director, Michael Russell, to our Foundation team. He brings an infectious energy and an unmatched vision. We are in good hands under his leadership. I believe I speak for the entire Board of Directors when I say we found the right person at the right time, and we will grow our impact because of his leadership.”

Thank you to Board President Forbes for his vision and for the dedicated time he has spent positively influencing the lives of our community. I agree, we will grow because of you!

If you take anything away from this post, I want you to know how important you are to ensuring we succeed, together. I’m writing this knowing just down the hall, folks are struggling just a little less because of you!

Thank you for your continued support.

All my best,

P.S. If you haven’t already, I invite you to take a moment and read (and share) our FY22 Impact Report. It is truly a testament to the good work you’ve helped us do, and the lives you helped to change!
