Meet Abby Edwards, Health on Wheels Car Raffle Winner

Since drawing the winning key that unlocked her car, life has never been better for Abby.

Question: How do you feel since winning the car?  What has it meant to you and your family?

A: “It still doesn’t feel real. It feels like a dream! I cannot put into words what this has meant to our family. Winning was a life changing experience. It is something that will continue to be a blessing to our lives for years and years to come.”

Q: Can you put into writing what the Health on Wheels program means to your patients?

A: Abby, a Liberty Hospital Social Worker, utilizes this program nearly every day.  “The Health on Wheels program provides a sense of relief to patients. It eliminates the stress of trying to find transportation to and from appointments or when discharging home. It is an amazing tool for our Hospital to use to eliminate barriers to healthcare!”

Q: Why did you choose to support the Foundation?

A: “I choose to support the Foundation because of the Foundation’s profound impact on the community. The Foundation is one of the reasons I chose to work at Liberty Hospital. At my previous job, I worked with patients that had received assistance from the Foundation and Libert Hospital. Seeing how much the Foundation and Liberty Hospital made a difference was so inspiring. I wanted to be a part of a health system that cared so deeply for its community.”

Q: Why did you buy the raffle tickets?

A: “I bought a raffle ticket for a chance to win! I knew either way I would “win”. Whether I won the car or won the opportunity to give back to the Foundation.”
