Health on Wheels 40th Anniversary Car Raffle Raises $63,590

LIBERTY, Mo., June 26, 2025- On Giving Tuesday of 2024, Liberty Hospital Foundation wanted to celebrate the 40th Anniversary year with a fundraiser that drives impact.  Health on Wheels car raffle was aimed to help support one of the new aspects of Patient Assistance and Uber Health: patient transportation needs at Liberty Hospital.  Spanning nearly six months, the anniversary fundraiser ticket sales concluded at Twilight where ten finalists were drawn.  The program brought in $63,590 toward patient assistance.

In partnership with Liberty Hospital’s Care Management Team, we have identified patient transportation to be one of the largest barriers to receiving medical care.  From access to a car to the cost of gas, this is one financial stress we aim to help alleviate.  Last year alone, the total investment and need for patient transportation was nearly $60,00.  We are proud to announce that our 40th Anniversary fundraiser will help continue on this part of our patient assistance program.

Breakdown of patient transportation aid in fiscal year 2024-2025:

• 1,055 rides for UberHealth at $21.09 /ride
• 71 specialized medical transportation rides ranging from $250 to $1,400
• 160 $50 gas cards through a $8,000 American Cancer Society grant
• 10 $50 gas cards through the Foundation’s Hughes Family Assistance Program
