LIBERTY, Mo., February 23, 2024 – This week, the Liberty Hospital Foundation stopped to reflect and celebrate our partnership with Liberty Hospital as they hit a major milestone of 50 years established in the community. While the building, equipment, and surrounding community have changed significantly since opening, one factor has been consistent: the people. The heartbeat of Liberty Hospital belongs to the dedicated staff who have made it a premier provider and cornerstone employer in the Northland.

The Liberty Hospital Foundation is upcoming it’s 40th anniversary this November 2024, after being instated as the Hospital’s partner in the mid 1980’s. Since this partnership began, the Foundation has helped bring in over $50 million in funding from generous community supporters to assist the vital programs that help with the health, education, wellness, and care of the Liberty Hospital community. In 40 years, together, there has been significant improvements to our community’s health: the TreeHouse was built, funding for under and uninsured patients is secured each year, the Liberty Half Marathon became the Northland’s largest race, and many more. The Foundation is also proud to support employees in the Hospital with funds and fun as an extra avenue for support.

The Liberty Hospital Foundation is proud to work on-site in the same building with the dedicated staff every day. Some of the staff have worked with the Hospital since nearly its beginning. Linda Carter, the longest tenured employee, said, “when my 10th anniversary came around, I remember thinking ‘wow, where has the time gone!’ and now I’m saying I cannot believe that it has been 47 years since my journey as a Liberty Hospital employee of began. It is hard to believe it is the same building with the changes in the physical appearance. I am proud to be able to say that I’ve had at least a very small part in the growth and expansion of services offered over the years. Helping to provide the quality of care for families in our community that we have done for years has been an unbelievable experience. Those that I have been privileged to work with (even as a remote employee) have helped make my life so much fuller and have been such a blessing. I am so grateful to be able to say, yes, I’m still working albeit PRN, and wow, it’s been 47 years!” Thank you, Linda, for reminding us of our “why.”

Thank you to the events planning committee for the wonderful 50th Anniversary Celebration on Thursday, February 22nd. Staff, community members, past and present employees and board members all joined in on celebrating and looking ahead into the next 50 years. The Foundation would like to thank the generous donors who helped us provide refreshments for the momentous occasion.
